  Independent marquee, furniture, catering-kit, and party hire that is leaving spreadsheets and needs enquiry forms, a diary, stock against a date, deposits, and an invoice without a build. A 30-day trial is the right first test.

• A week that already looks like the demo

  Quotes, deposits, delivery and collection, a crew phone view, Xero or QuickBooks on the way out. If that is the whole operation — and the exceptions are rare — a vertical SaaS is faster than a custom system. We will say so.

• Shops that can live inside the product’s model

• The exception is the operation

  Show weeks stack. A quoted dinner sits on the same truss as a paid gala. Crew lists, van loads, and a kit that must not be split live in someone’s head. Custom fields help. They do not invent an object the product never had.

• Warehouse, diary, and money must not drift

  Sales cannot confirm a date the floor cannot honour. A pick list that was printed at 4pm is already stale. The invoice should not be rebuilt from whoever still has the thread.

• You will still run a second system otherwise

  If the licence disagrees with the yard, Excel and WhatsApp become the real ops software. You then pay twice — once for the seat, again every Monday. That is the usual reason people ask us for an alternative to HiveSuite, not a feature checklist.
